Friday, June 9, 2023 – Corey Conners shot a 3-under 69 and sits in a four-way tied for second, one back of Carl Yuan after two rounds at the RBC Canadian Open. Conners holds the highest 36-hole position by a Canadian since Mike Weir in 2004.
Friday’s second round started with rainy and cold conditions, but the weather turned for the better and the leaderboard is taking shape heading into the weekend. The cut line is set a 1-under with 75 players making the cut.
After starting the day at even-par, Tyrrell Hatton shot the composite-course record, firing an 8-under 64. Hatton recorded nine birdies in his round to join Conners, Aaron Rai and C.T. Pan in a tie for second at 8-under. The composite course is made up of 18 holes from the 27 available at Oakdale Golf and Country Club.
This week, Mike Weir made his 30th start at the RBC Canadian Open. Weir now sits tied with Gordon Brydson in second, two behind George Cumming for the most starts in tournament history. Weir shot a 2-under, 70 on Friday to make the cut for the 11th time in his career. Weir is one of eight Canadians to make the cut. The highest number of Canadians to play the weekend since 2002.

PATRICK GREENMAN RECEIVES HONOUR AT RBC CANADIAN OPEN
Oakdale Golf and Country Club’s Director of Property Management Patrick Greenman was presented with the Canadian Golf Superintendents Association (CGSA) National Tournament Award on Friday. CGSA Vice-President John McLinden presented Greenman with a plaque in recognition of his efforts for hosting the 2023 RBC Canadian Open at Oakdale.
SPECTATOR PARKING FOR THE RBC CANADIAN OPEN
Due to extremely high demand of pre-paid parking, RBC Canadian Open spectator parking at Downsview Park is now completely sold out for Saturday, June 10 and Sunday, June 11. Spectators traveling to the RBC Canadian Open are encouraged to utilize TTC services, rideshare/car hire and to please consider carpooling. As a reminder, there is no public parking onsite at Oakdale or in the surrounding neighbourhood.
Via TTC:
Subway: Downsview Park Station is the nearest subway station to Oakdale Golf & Country Club. Spectators will be able to access a free shuttle from Downsview Park to the golf course and the concert site.
Bus: Oakdale Golf & Country Club is accessible via multiple Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) bus routes to the Jane Street at Troutbrooke Dr stop · 400 m (5 min) walk.
Rideshare/ Taxi:
Ride share vehicles and other for hire vehicles will be directed to a designated area just off of Jane Street, steps from the golf course and the concert site. The ride share drop off is on Troutbrook Drive.

Returning again, as part of the RBCxMusic Concert Series, is the SiriusXM Stage; it features local acts who have the chance to perform in The Fare Way, a hub for spectator activities that promote more than just golf. On Saturday night, following the golf, two local artists get the opportunity to shine. Luna Elle and Skye Wallace perform on the SiriusXM Stage before fans turn their attention to headliner Alanis Morissette later tomorrow night.
