Akie Iwai of Saitama, Japan, fired a 7-under 64 to close Thursday with a two-shot lead over five others at the 2025 CPKC Women’s Open at Mississaugua Golf and Country Club in Mississauga, Ont. Among those tied for second is Team Canada NextGen member, Aphrodite Deng of Calgary, Alta. The 15-year-old opened her first LPGA Tour event with a 5-under 66 and held the lead for much of Thursday morning. Current world no. 1 Jeeno Thitikul, 2023 champion Megan Khang, Gaby Lopez and Leona Maguire are tied with Deng. For more information on Thursday’s first round, click here.
